Richard Lewis
Richard is well-known as a specialist in R&D tax reliefs, having previously been a director in Deloitte’s London-based R&D Tax Services group. His R&D knowledge is backed up by a wealth of experience in corporation tax advice and compliance for a number of highly innovative technology companies ranging from developmental start ups to large multinational groups.
As well as speaking regularly on R&D tax reliefs to both industry and practice, Richard has written many articles in tax and business publications. He is frequently consulted on R&D matters by tax professionals as well as clients. He has also been heavily involved in meetings and representations with key government departments on the R&D tax relief scheme since its inception in 2000.
Richard advises clients from a wide range of industry sectors including software, manufacturing, food, and engineering.
He has a science degree from the University of Sheffield and has been a Chartered Tax Adviser since 1993.
Tony Christian
Tony has a wealth of technology experience, covering engineering, manufacturing, energy and information technology.
Following technical R&D roles in the communications and railway industries, he moved into the IT industry with a computer-aided engineering (design and analysis) company, then as a divisional head of the IT subsidiary of a major international engineering and construction company.
Tony joined British Aerospace (BAe) in 1991, leading teams developing and implementing leading edge manufacturing control systems. He then moved to Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), the global IT consulting and services firm, to lead the UK consulting and systems practice for the process industries.
In 1998, Tony joined engineering IT solutions firm AVEVA Group plc (now merged with Schneider). As Services and Technology Director, he worked with the engineering leaders of major international oil, gas, chemical and utility firms and their design and construction contractors to develop and implement best practice engineering processes and supporting IT solutions for major capital projects and plant operations.
Tony has a BSc degree (Mechanical Engineering) and MSc degree (Engineering Acoustics, Noise and Vibration) from the University of Nottingham.
